Spectrum Baton Club was established in 1992 in Aurora by Jennifer Meron, to provide baton twirling opportunities to the youth of our community. Since then, it has blossomed into one of the top clubs in Canada! Spectrum offers a wide variety of baton twirling opportunities for all ages and experience levels – whether you are a new twirler with no experience, or a seasoned athlete looking for international competition – look no further than Spectrum!!
Our club participates in the CBTF Skills Development Badge Program, several community parades and shows, and offers pre-competitive and competitive activities in both team and individual events.
It all starts with our 10 week Learn-To-Twirl Program. During these weeks, our brand-new twirlers will start to learn their baton and dance basics in a 45 – 75-minute class (time dependent on class size and age of participants).
Our Learn to Twirl members will
March in parades
Participate in shows
Earn their first Badge/Ribbon
Our Pre-Competitive program takes things a step further. Class time will generally be about 1.5 hours per week, and the athletes will continue to work on all the things Learn to Twirl offers, but also have the opportunity to learn “set” skills routines and perform them at competitions where they will be GRADED only – no competition, no rankings, just learning and fun! Finally, most athletes enter our Competitive program. That can mean many different things ranging from team-only, to international level solo work. Our competitive teams and individuals hold several Provincial and National Titles, and we have captured several International awards, including “Top International Entry” at the 2012 USA TwirlMania International Championships!
But whatever level you are at, our focus remains; fitness, sound technical basics and FUN!
Spectrum’s Head Coach and Director is Jennifer Meron. Jennifer brings 35 years of recreational to international level coaching experience to the club. She has served on both the Provincial and National Baton Twirling governing bodies for years, and is the recipient of the Canadian Baton Twirling Federation LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD.
