The Aurora King Baseball Association (AKBA) was formed as an amalgamation of the Aurora Minor Baseball Association (AMBA) and the King Township Baseball Association (KTBA) just prior to the 2015 season. The goal of the merger was to enhance the baseball programs available to the residence of both municipalities by increasing registration and access to facilities while reducing costs and overhead.
Aurora King Baseball Association (AKBA) remains committed to one of our core values in the safety and well being of our athletes, coaches, volunteers, umpires, and their families. While the COVID-19 situation remains fluid, we are continuing to monitor the situation and as of today, no further decisions have been made on either the competitive or house-league seasons for 2021.
The AKBA executive committee continues to meet regularly by teleconference on the planning and preparations required for baseball to begin. A wide range of contingency scenarios are being developed and considered dependent on what is permitted once the baseball season arrives.
As developments occur, AKBA will update its website and social media platforms in a timely manner as we will always take the direction of Baseball Ontario, Provincial Government and York Region Health to make sure that when we do get back out on the diamonds, that it will be with the utmost safety and well being of everyone involved.
Thank you for your continued patience for the upcoming 2021 house-league season and it is our hope that we will be able to open our registration at some point this winter.
