The Aurora Diggers Girls Softball is an incorporated not for profit volunteer association, which has been facilitating "Rep" teams for the female softball players of Aurora since 1972.Our mission is to provide a competitive, affordable, enjoyable and safe softball program for the girls in our community. Realizing that a team sport teaches many life lessons the Association strives to provide optimal player development through appropriate training and suitable competition. We mandate that our Coaches are properly trained and we are constantly applying updated information to benefit our players. The Association has hosted many tournaments, both Provincial Qualifiers and Grand Championships, along with invitational ones. Over the many years of operation, the Association has been proud of the teams that have won Provincial Championships, attended the Eastern Canadians and participated in a National Competition. The Coaches, Players and Parents constantly support Community events such as Santa Under the Stars Parade, Spring Clean-up and Canada Day. In 1997, through prior years major fundraising efforts, our Association was able to assist the Town of Aurora in upgrading Fleury Park Diamond along with donating the cost of the gazebo, batting cage and storage building. In 2005 our Association was one of the founding members of Sport Aurora. In 2009 the Association took over the additional task of providing local female recreation softball (house league) for the young females of Aurora. This program focus is on FUN, Participation and Learning. We are striving to follow the new Long Term Player Development Program developed for all sports. In 2013 we fielded our first House League select team. It is our hope that this program will grow in the years to come so that the girls can continue to benefit from the "True Spirit of participating in a Team Sport". Our Association is affiliated with the North York Women's Softball League, Provincial Women's Softball Association, Softball Ontario and Softball Canada.
